GOOGLE’S LITTLE KNOWN BUT USEFUL FUNCTIONS

Do you know that, apart from being an excellent search engine, Google can also perform a few other useful functions to get instant information. If you want to know the definition of some word, say “elated”, just type “define:elated” in Google (make sure that you type it continuously i.e. no break in-between) and Google will immediately returns the definition of the word from a few sources. If for some reason you want to know what time is it in certain city around the world (say London), instead of performing mental calculation around the GMT time, just type the words  “time London” in Google and press the search button and Google will tell you the current time in London.  If you want to know 18 inches is equivalent to how many feet, just type “18 inches in feet” in Google and press the search button. Google will immediately give the result as 1.5 feet.

If you are a fan of Liverpool Football Club, you can easily find out the result of their last game, and the date of their next game, by simply typing “Liverpool FC” in Google and push the search button. If you do it now (today is 30th January 2009), Google would return the result below. Please take note this service is only available for the English Premier League.
